How To Stop Thinking About Social Media As Mindless Scrolling

Social media is a powerful marketing tool. Instead of just posting whenever you feel like it, you need to create a schedule. After all, you are running a business and not a personal page, right?!?!

So we need to change how we approach social media. Social media is a way for you to connect with a “cold audience” and keep your “warm audience” engaged.

A “cold audience” are people who have never heard of you. A “warm audience” is an audience that has seen or heard of you before.

Both of these audiences are important, but you need different strategies to reach them. The “warm audience” is the group that has either seen you or already follows you. They know you. So you want to keep that relationship going. You want to continue to share tips or educational posts to teach your audience something. Keep them coming back because they know you offer quality content. And you can sell your services to them since they already know your work. They know what you provide and they trust you.

Your “cold audience” needs to be welcomed in. They need to get to know you. So you need to do introduction posts more frequently so they can virtually meet you on your feeds. And you want to show them that you are an expert in your field by sharing educational posts.

So using strategy behind posting will help you create a business that people trust!

Unveiling Your Social Superpowers

Think of social media as your digital storefront, but instead of window displays, you’ve got eye-catching posts, stories, and videos. The key here is to be authentic, relatable, and oh-so-engaging.

Show off your products, give sneak peeks behind the scenes, and share stories that resonate with your audience. Remember, people don’t just want to buy stuff; they want to buy into a story.

To build that relationship with your audience, you don’t have to share every little bit of your lives to be authentic. You just have to show your personality when talking about things. It can be hard as an introvert to do this. So find your talking points and show your personality while you talk. It makes it feel less awkward if you think about chatting with a friend instead of a screen or phone!

Cracking the Code: Strategies for Social Success

Alright, time to roll up our sleeves and get into the nitty-gritty of what makes a stellar social media strategy. First things first, you’ve got to know your audience like the back of your hand. Who are they? What do they love? What keeps them up at night? The more you understand them, the better you can tailor your content to their tastes.

Next, let’s talk consistency. Imagine if you walked by that bakery you love and they were only open sporadically. Bummer, right? Same goes for your social media. Post regularly and at optimal times when your audience is most active. Consistency builds trust and keeps your brand on their minds.

And let’s not forget about the art of engagement! Social media is a two-way street, my friends. Respond to comments, slide into DMs, and join conversations that align with your brand. Your followers want to know there’s a real, human team behind that polished facade.

The Power of The Platform

Now, let’s touch on the different platforms that make up this vast social media landscape. From the visual allure of Instagram to the rapid-fire quirkiness of Twitter, each platform has its own unique vibe. Choose the ones that resonate with your brand and where your target audience hangs out. Don’t feel pressured to be everywhere—just be where it matters.

Since I like figuring out what my audience wants, it helps to find where they are on social media platforms. Do they prefer Instagram? YouTube? Twitter? Threads?

Once you know where your customers are, that is where you need to show up! Then repurpose your content you made on that one platform on all the other platforms. This way you are working smarter, not harder!

Measuring Your Triumphs

Ah, the sweet satisfaction of success! But how do you know if your social media efforts are paying off? Analytics, my friends! Most platforms offer insights into your posts’ performance. Dive into those numbers, see what’s working, and what could use a little tweaking. Adapt, refine, and watch your engagement soar.
